Last night we went did our annual trek to the "Lights of the South". It was just an awesome sight and more beautiful than ever before. Chloe went along for her first time and Gran also went. A GREAT time was had by all. It was super cold, so we all snuggled in on the hayride and enjoyed the sights. Of course, it goes without saying, that we missed the Rhodes clan - here are some pictures so you can kind of experience it...

HELLO, GERMANY!!!
IT'S GONNA BE A CORNHOLE CHRISTMAS
Yesterday was our annual trip to the Christmas tree farm to cut down our family tree. We've been doing this for quite a few years now, the last couple being with our best friends. I must say it wasn't quite the jovial time we are used to having - it was just the 4 of us and Calye's friend Julie- instead of the usual: us(4), the Bob's(5), Tiller and Abbey. A little more subdued, to say the least. Well, we did the usual walk around the many, many acres to find our perfect tree, then went into the little snack barn they have to grab some hot chocolate and boiled peanuts.
Lo and behold - what did we see????? CHRISTMAS CORNHOLE!!!!!! "It must be a sign from above," we all said as we immediately thought of our faraway friends that we love to play cornhole with, who did I mention (lost their minds and) moved all the way across the world to Germany...anyway, we decided that it must be devine intervention and that this was God's way of having them here with us - if only in our hearts!!!!
